DASD Mount attribute relation to VAM Pools

Issue/Introduction

Is there a requirement that DASD volumes defined to VAM pools need to be mounted as Storage in the VATLST?  My predecessor indicated they all needed to be set as Storage. In some cases that is causing an issue with DSN's allocated outside VAM w/o a vol=ser are ending up on VAM pool volumes inappropriately.  I'd like to mount them all as Private if that does not interferer with VAM.

Resolution

It's not a requirement to have DASD volumes defined to VAM pools that need to be mounted as Storage in the VATLST.
