Can I share the catalog between release 5.2 and release 5.1 of CA Epic?

Issue/Introduction

 

Question:

 We would like to upgrade to Epic  release 5.2 on our test system and need to know if we can share with Epic r5.1 running in production.

Answer: 

 The catalog can be shared between  release 5.1 and  release 5.2 of Epic under the following conditions.

1. TSIDUTL maintenance  such as backup/restore/reorg/scratch must be done from the z/VSE running  release 5.2
   
   
2. TSIDCLN rerun must be done daily if the z/VSE running  release 5.1 will be updating the catalog.

Additional Information: 

TSIDMNT updates may be run under the release 5.1   These updates include SCRATCH and DEFINE.
