Issue/Introduction

Is there any specific documentation available to integrate Service Desk/Service Management with OKTA

Environment

Release : 17.3 and higher

Component : SERVICE DESK MANAGER

Resolution

While Support is unable to assist in integrating Service Management with OKTA, from reviewing the OKTA web site, one would need to establish SSO with a SAML based configuration.  Documentation discusses this activity here:

One must first establish the basic SSO configuration using SAML before moving ahead with setting up OKTA, per:

Additional Information

Another strategy to consider to integrate OKTA is to have SiteMinder integration in place, which is referenced in the above documentation link for SAML, then have OKTA work with Siteminder as an intermediary for SDM Authentication.
