Issue/Introduction

The following appears in the browser:

Service Unavailable

The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problem. Please try again later.

 

mod_jk.log from Apache server  shows:

[info] jk_open_socket::jk_connect.c (816): connect to <IP Address>:8009 failed (errno=61)
[info] ajp_connect_to_endpoint::jk_ajp_common.c (1065): (<Catalog hostname>_USMView) Failed opening socket to (<IP Address>:8009) (errno=61)
[error] ajp_send_request::jk_ajp_common.c (1725): (<Catalog hostname>_USMView) connecting to backend failed. Tomcat is probably not started or is listening on the wrong port (errno=61)
[info] ajp_service::jk_ajp_common.c (2775): (<Catalog hostname>_USMView) sending request to tomcat failed (recoverable), because of error during request sending (attempt=2)
[error] ajp_service::jk_ajp_common.c (2796): (<Catalog hostname>_USMView) connecting to tomcat failed (rc=-3, errors=13, client_errors=0).
[info] service::jk_lb_worker.c (1601): service failed, worker <Catalog hostname>_USMView is in error state
[info] service::jk_lb_worker.c (1681): All tomcat instances are busy or in error state

Resolution

1. Add the following to worker.properties:

worker.SRVCOMBGPRU01_USMView.secret=servicecatalog

2. Save changes and restart Apache Web Server

3. Go to server.xml for Service Catalog and add the following to the AJP connector:

address="0.0.0.0" requiredSecret="servicecatalog" 

Example: 

<Connector enableLookups="false" maxSpareThreads="100" maxThreads="400" minSpareThreads="25" port="8009" protocol="AJP/1.3" redirectPort="8443" tomcatAuthentication="false" address="0.0.0.0" requiredSecret="servicecatalog" />

4. Save Changes and restart Service Catalog.
