Issue/Introduction

Devices, output of Utilization IN and Utilization Out in percentage for network management interface showing above 100%.

Cause

The usual reason is because the configured bandwidth doesn't match the actual physical bandwidth
1)This most commonly occurs with Tunnel interfaces, where they have a default logical speed of 56kbps, but the real physical speed is much greater.
2)The other possibility is where the network admin has configured a lower bandwidth than is actually available, 
either because they wanted to manipulate routing protocols, or because the bandwidth was set once, then later upgraded without changing the interface config.   

 

 

Resolution

 Please work with your device or network administrator for Configuration changes and to adjust settings on the network device interface or router interface.
