Issue/Introduction

We have the JasperServer CABI 6.4.3 version for CA Service Management 17.1 and we are going to upgrade to JasperReports Server R7.2 for CA Service Management 17.3 but can't find any documentation on how to do it.

Resolution

With respect to upgrading from 6.3/6.4.3/7.1.1 to 7.2, here are a few points that would set the context:

  • 6.3/6.4.3/7.1.1 was an installer that was built by CA’s internal CABI team. The last such installer was 7.1.1.
  • 7.2 installer is a vanilla version of TIBCO JasperReportsServer installer. There is no customization done to the installer from CA/Broadcom side.
     

There is no upgrade path to 7.2. You would have to take a backup of your content (adhoc views, reports, dashboards & domains) on 6.3/6.4.3/7.1.1 i.e. export the content. Once done, you will have to import all the content back into 7.2. Once successfully imported, customers can use the imported content with 7.2.

Due to the change in the installers, there is no upgrade path available from 6.3/6.4.3/7.1.1 to 7.2.
