Resolution

As CA 2E 8.7 uses the same license library as CA 2E 8.1, YDSPLICPRD displaying version 8.1 is correct and is to be expected.

What really matters in terms of the CA 2E license is the license expiration date, which can be displayed using the YDSPLICPRD command.
