Group member count from OData is different than Portal count

Issue/Introduction

A Group of items in the DX NetOps Performance Management (PM) Performance Center (PC) Portal shows 529 items as members.

The same Group used in a Data Aggregator (DA) OpenAPI OData query returns only 453 items as members.

Why is the membership count for the same Group different?

The DA OpenAPI OData query used is:

• https://<DA-Host>:<Port>/odata/api/interfaces?$top=5000&$skip=0&$format=text/csv&$filter=((groups/Name eq '<GroupName>'))

Environment

All supported DX NetOps Performance Management releases

Cause

PC Portal Group members not present in the DA OData Group membership are contributed to Portal Inventory by the Network Flow Analysis (NFA) Data Source (DS).

They are not know to the DA thus will not be included in the Group membership in DA OpenAPI OData queries.

Resolution

Ensure Group members are known to the DA or note for data consumers why the DA data doesn't show the items where NFA does.
