User value 1/2 field usage on Transaction entries (Clarity PPM)

Issue/Introduction

We are considering using user value 1 and user value 2 on transaction entry and grouping attributes.

Are there any drawbacks?

Resolution

These values can be used on transaction entry.

However, if used for grouping attributes you cannot populate from Team or Assignments.  You can only create manual cost plans.

If you have actual costs on the plan already you can Populate from Team or Assignments, but will get an error.  The actual lines will still show on the new plan and you can manually add lines to that plan.

Therefore, it is possible to use the User Value1 and User Value2 in transactions and on Manual Cost Plans.
