Receiving alarm e-mails from Spectrum Alarm Notification Manager (SANM) that did not pass a Policy Alarm Filter

Cause

In a previous version of Spectrum, the user had created sub directories after the $SPECROOT/Notifier directory and copied the AlarmNotifier files to these directories. Then executed individual AlarmNotifier processes from these directories for specific e-mail notification.

The user upgraded Spectrum which upgraded the default $SPECTRUM/Notifier/AlarmNotifier binary to the new version but the copy in the sub directories after the $SPECROOT/Notifier directory are not upgraded by the install.

It was found these AlarmNotifier binaries in the sub directories after the $SPECROOT/Notifier directory were from Spectrum version 10.2.3 and the customer is running Spectrum 10.4.2.0.

Resolution

Copied the current $SPECROOT/Notifier/AlarmNotifier binary to the sub directories after the $SPECROOT/Notifier directory. Then restarted the current running AlarmNotifier processes so it picked up the new AlarmNotifier binary.
