Issue/Introduction

Your Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager server receives content from internal LiveUpdate servers using FTP or LAN protocol.  These protocols are no longer supported in the new version of the management server.

You cannot upgrade until you configure your internal LiveUpdate servers to use the HTTP or HTTPS protocol, or until you configure your manager server to recieve content from the default LiveUpdate server.

Cause

Upgrade fails because your Endpoint Protection manager is configured to get definitions from an LUA via FTP or LAN.

Resolution

You must reconfigure your Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager to use HTTP or HTTPS for Internal Liveupdate server.  All instances of FTP and LAN must be removed from the configuration and changed to HTTP in order for the upgrade to proceed.
