Introduction

When using VAIM UI to modify a custom profile, the user may want to delete recent changes to revert to a previous version of the profile. However the user may inadvertently delete the entire profile. The article describes how to restore a profile that has been deleted.

Question:

How do I restore a profile in VAIM that has been deleted?

Environment:

CA Virtual Assurance for Infrastructure Management.

Versions: 12.8.x, 12.9

Answer:

The deleted policy file is marked as *.deleted under the directory:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\CA\SM\domainserver\User
Defined Profiles\SystemEDGE\Policies

e.g. test_profile.generic.prof.deleted

Rename the file back to 'test_profile.generic.prof'

Then recycled the CA SM Domain Server Service, and refresh the Spectrum AM or Virtual Assurance UI.
