Issue/Introduction

After upgrading Management Center (MC) or Content Analysis (CAS), the warning The internal device ID has unexpectedly changed is displayed in MC for the CAS device(s).

Environment

3.x versions of MC or CAS

Cause

Content Analysis devices now support providing the appliance ID to Management Center. If MC previously used the device serial number to register the CAS device, it issues the following warning noting that the device identifier has changed:

Resolution

To clear this message, use the RMA Device operation feature located on the Operations menu. Go to the Network tab and select Operations > RMA Device.
