SystemEdge reports local host address in investigator instead of real host name / address

Issue/Introduction

The SystemEdge Host Monitor extension in the APMIA agent is reporting the metrics under the localhost address instead of the correct hostname - this does not happen all the time just intermittently

Release : 20.2 -> 21.6

Resolution

open the bundle.properties file in the hostmonitor extension folder e.g. apmia\extensions\hostmonitor-1f487afbxt16-21.1.0.25 (name will be version dependent) and add the following property

 

introscope.agent.hostmonitor.profiles.localhost.maxRetryForSNMPAgent=5

 

then restart the agent

 

This property will be present by default in future releases
