Issue/Introduction

Following an upgrade or attempted upgrade, the SEPM displays a "schema mismatch" error.

The Upgrade-0.log shows 'SEVERE: Exception in thread "Upgrade"' and 'SEVERE: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/rsa/jsafe/provider/JsafeJCE', along with the date, time, and thread.

This issue and error are due to missing components.

Resolution

Although this is not necessarily due to FIPS, executing the FIPSMode-Disable.bat file from *\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\bin reinstalls the missing components and resolves the issue.
