Introduction/Summary:

Report Server for CA Workload Automation ESP Edition (1) - Installation

Background:

N/A

Environment:

CA WA ESP Edition 11.4 Z/OS

Instructions:

Report server is an add-on feature introduced with CA WA ESP Edition. It has its own FMID, but it doesn't need any license keys. The user ID of the Report Server STC needs read and execute permissions to the HFS directory of SMP/E target zone SEACPPATH. It has its own listening port to receive requests from CA Workload Automation ESP system.

Some highlights

  • Database connected with Report Server can be updated in real-time or in batch mode

  • Two CA WA ESP systems cannot connect to the same Report Server, but two Report Servers can use the same database and tables.

  • New SQL command was added to the existing history report (REPORT command) to allow users to select data from a database.

Install

It needs a USS directory for install and real-time execution; this means the USS directory should be mounted all the time. Here is an example to show the files created in it:

$ pwd
/CAI/ESP/ReportServer/seacpath
$ ls -l
total 544
-rwxrwxrwx OMS OMVSDFG 126915 Apr 6 2015 CYBRS001
-rwxrwxrwx OMS OMVSDFG 126915 Apr 6 2015 CYBRS001.jar
-rwxr-xr-x 1 OMS OMVSDFG 6011 Apr 6 2015 CYBRS002
-rwxr-xr-x 1 OMS OMVSDFG 6241 Apr 6 2015 CYBRS003

Other than this, there is no difference than installing other components of CA Workload Automation ESP Edition system.
