Issue/Introduction
This article describes the procedure to recover administrative access if the imadmin user account is accidentally deleted in CA Identity Manager.
Environment
Identity Manager 14.5 & 15
Cause
Accidental deletion of the imadmin user account results in a loss of administrative access to the Identity Manager console.
Resolution
Prerequisites: Ensure you have access to a secondary user account with sufficient permissions to create new users in the Identity Manager User Console.
Create Replacement User: Log in to the Identity Manager User Console using the secondary administrative user and create a new user account named imadmin.
Assign Admin Privileges:
Launch the CA Identity Manager Management Console.
Navigate to Environments > [Select Environment] > System Manager.
Enter imadmin in the administrative user field and click Validate.
Finalize Changes: Save the settings and restart the Identity Manager environment services to propagate the new administrative privileges.
Verify: Log out and attempt to log in to the User Console using the newly created imadmin credentials to confirm access.
Additional Information
To prevent accidental deletion of core administrative accounts, implement strict Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) policies.
