Issue/Introduction

Hi,

We want to understand how the objects are collected by DUX and shown under available schedule workflows?

Also what are workflows, in context of DUX?

Environment

Release : 6.10

Component : DOLLAR UNIVERSE

Resolution

What are Workflows?

As mentioned in the document, in context of explorer the scheduled workflow corresponds to a template task of the repository or to a non-template task deployed from a template task of the repository (V6.6 and +).

How DUX collect objects from repositories?

In the product documentation Explorer -> Introduction -> Architecture -> Repositories the below lines are mentioned, provide explanation around objects collected by DUX

Dollar Universe Explorer will search on the repository for the definition of all objects associated to the tasks (templates or not) declared on the repository. On the production nodes, it will only collect the list of non-template tasks that come from the deployment of repository template tasks.

Just to elaborate further on above please find comprehension thereof.

Dollar Universe Explorer is linked to repositories and it will check the repositories for objects collection as described below:

    • If repository is of Area X(Production)

Dollar Universe Explorer will search on the repository and will only collect the list of non-template tasks that come from the deployment of repository template tasks.

Note: At least one object from available list of objects (i.e. tasks) should be deployed to a production node to let DUX extract those objects. If the non-template tasks are created but neither of it is deployed DUX will not collect those tasks.

    • If repository is of Area other than X

Dollar Universe Explorer will search on the repository for the definition of all objects associated to the tasks (templates or not) declared on the repository
