Issue/Introduction

How to set or rename Identity Manager's header title?

The header title which appears immediately to the right of the CA logo and the main menu welcome message both default to "CA Identity Manager". Read the below to find out how to rename them to display another string.

Environment

Release: CAPUEL99000-12.5-Identity Manager-Blended upgrade to Identity &-Access Mgmt Ente
Component:

Resolution

The parameter that controls the header title string is placed in:

iam_im.ear\custom\resourceBundles\FWDefault.properties.

The parameter name is called: "global.title" and by default it is set to "CA Identity Manager". You can change that string and will need to restart your application server. If you do then the new value will be set to these two strings as well as the product name in the default login page (unless the login page has been customized).

Further, the 'Welcome to ...' string is defined at:

iam_im.ear\user_console.war\app\ca12\resources.properties.

In that file you will see the welcome message where the product name is concatenated as a parameter that is taken from the file mentioned earlier.

Note that both property files are localized and changing them will require you to change these files for other languages you use to apply the change to other languages you support.

Additional Information

Please be aware that in 14.4 Logo and Title were combined into one image.

If you would like to change the logo and/or text the whole icon needs to be changed to one containing title in picture.
