DYNAM/T VM server cannot access RMSMASTR after upgrading to z/VM 7.2.
Release : 7.0
Component : CA-Dynam/T Tape Management for z/VM, Dynam for VM
z/VM 7.2
Running with the DYNVM Extension, which is a subset of Dynam/T VM and is serviced differently. Also running the Extension on the DYNVMA user ID.
PTF SO15055 is required to run DYNAMAVR on z/VM 7.2 that can be downloaded from the Broadcom Support Portal at:
https://support.broadcom.com/web/ecx/solutiondetails?aparNo=SO15055&os=CMS
Need to apply PTF SO15055 that is required to run DYNAMAVR on z/VM 7.2.
Apply instructions:
1) Transfer the fix portion of this PTF to your VM System as an
ASCII transfer:
* If you are using FTP, specify ASCII prior to starting the
file transfer.
* If you are using a terminal emulator that invokes IND$FILE,
specify or select the ASCII, and CR/LF options.
2) Transfer or rename the file with the name SO15055 ZAP.
3) Make a backup copy of the DYNAMAVR TXTLIB.
4) Apply the PTF using the ZAP TXTLIB command:
--> ZAP TXTLIB DYNAMAVR ( INPUT SO15055
After you have applied PTF SO15055, we are going to make sure you have the correct version of DMSCSL TEXT installed in the CAUSRLIB TXTLIB:
1) Remove the installed DMSCSL TEXT from the CAUSRLIB TXTLIB:
--> TXTLIB DELETE CAUSRLIB DMSCSL
2) Add the DMSCSL TEXT file from the z/VM 7.2 S-Disk (this is where it should be!):
--> TXTLIB ADD CAUSRLIB DMSCSL
Now we are ready to rebuild all the DYNAMAVR components ...
1) Run the TQINST EXEC to regenerate the DYNAMAVR code.
2) Restart the DYNVM Server.
