Issue/Introduction

Encryption Management Server will still attempt to regroup consumers even if the server is not configured to use LDAP Directory Synchronization.

Environment

Symantec Encryption Management Server release 3.4.2 and above.

Resolution

Regrouping of consumers runs every 6 hours by default whether or not Directory Synchronization is enabled.

If Directory Synchronization is disabled, the regrouping process runs very quickly because there is no need for Encryption Management Server to connect to an Active Directory domain controller.

If you wish to disable the regrouping, please create a case with Broadcom Technical Support.
