Issue/Introduction

You want to force a core for Proxy SG on AWS, but there is no serial console access on AWS.

You cannot connect to the serial console for m4 ProxySG model on AWS.

 

Resolution

Since there is no serial console access for AWS, use XenTools:

-- Navigate to the advanced URL:  /XenTools 
-- In the table, select the option to change the restart behavior to: write_core
-- The next time the ProxySG hangs, use the AWS console to trigger a reboot.

When the ProxySG comes back up there should be a core image available, just like a ctrl-X ctrl-C sequence had been executed from the serial console.

We recommend testing this functionality after enabling to verify that a core is written.
