Issue/Introduction

When we deploy PTF SO16108, must we update our current SMFDATA parmlib member?

What must the new  SVWVDSLB and SMFDATA parmlib members look like for our site? Is DSLB required?

Environment

Release : 16.0

Component : SYSVIEW

Cause

New Feature in 14.0 added via PTF SO16108

Resolution

Prior to the SYSVIEW Dynamic SMF Log stream Browsing component, SYSVIEW users could use the SMFDATA subtask to log a specified list of SMF record types and subtypes to a single log stream of their choice. Migration of SMFDATA configuration options to SVWVDSLB definitions is not required. The configuration options in the member SMFDATA can coexist with the definitions in member SVWVDSLB. If the log stream name specified by the keyword LOGSTREAM-SMFDATA-NAME matches a log stream name definition in parmlib member SVWVDSLB, the options and definition will be combined or merged. It is recommended that the migration is performed so that all definitions are in one location. A sample of migration from SMFDATA to SVWVDSLB is below, as an example.
