Question:
Since upgrading to r17.0, why am I seeing more ARCHIVE JOURNAL jobs end with DB002549 RC=4 and producing an empty archive journal file?
Answer:
As of r17.0, the JSEG records at the start of the journal file are no longer archived.
This means that it is more likely that an archive journal job will report message DB002549, end with RC=4, and produce an empty archive journal file.
It is recommended that any tools monitoring the ARCHIVE JOURNAL jobs allow RC=4 as valid, as well as RC=0.
Additional Information:
DB002549 can also be the result of a bug, resolved by RO31046 (r18.0) or RO31396 (r17.0).
