CAS9180S - CPU ###### REQUIRES AN LMP KEY TO RUN PROD (3M)

Issue/Introduction

CAS9180S error at VSE sites may contain unfamiliar product codes. One example is (3M). It may not be obvious how to uninstall these products at a VSE site.

Environment

This can occur in a VSE environment running CA IDMS.

Cause

This error is issued when an LMP key has expired.

Resolution

For VSE, the product code on message CAS9180S may be unfamiliar, as there are some codes known only to CASAUTIL. If the CAS9180S is for a product that is no longer being used at the site, or a product for which the license has expired, it can be uninstalled.

For product 3M, which is the CASAUTIL code for CA IDMS Performance Monitor at a VSE shop, two steps are required to uninstall it:

1. Edit member CALMPKEY.A and remove the Perfmon entry, which should look like this: 
   Prod(3M) Date(31OCT10) CPU(SITE-****/######) LMPCODE( 
2. Rename or delete phases PMONCROL and PMONCIOD

 

Once these steps are completed, the CAS9180S for product (3M) should no longer be produced.
