CA Workload Automation iXP

Issue/Introduction

Our users migrated to a new server. When they use ixjil, it returns an "Invalid User: ?" message.  The server log doesn't show the id connecting at all.  If they use it from the old host, it works as expected, and the user/host info is in the ixpDaemon log.

Environment

Release : 11.3

Component : CA WORKLOAD AUTOMATION AE IXP

Resolution

Once the user upgraded JRE from 251 to 281, IXP worked. They use SSSD instead of VAS, and the older version of java didn’t work properly. It appears that SSSD support is included in the newer java version.

Additional Information

The iXp CLI tool checks Java property "user.name"

Login to the shell and run the following java command as the *exact same iXp CLI user*. Run the command twice, once on the old RHEL7 box and again on the RHEL8 box. Compare the outputs.

java -XshowSettings:all -versio
