Issue/Introduction

When configuring a view with Metric "Calculate Level by Device" in a view based on a group that contains only components is showing higher data values than expected

Environment

DX NetOps CAPM 20.2 or later

Resolution

When you choose Metric Calculate Level by Device, it is looking at the whole device associated with the components, not just the components explicitly in the group.

For example, if you were reporting on Interface Utilization, that would be showing the Utilization for all the interfaces on the device, not just the ones in the group.

To see component level data, you must use Metric "Calculate Level by Component".
