Issue/Introduction

What are the default/recommended ports to use HTTPS/SSL on the following applications:

  • CA Xflow/Service Point
  • Search Server

Environment

Service Desk Manager v17.3 and up

Resolution

The xFlow related port assignments are actually arbitrary and there is no default or recommended SSL ports that should be assigned.  Port selections may be made at the discretion of implementation, provided there are no port conflicts.

For non-SSL and SSL (in parentheses), the default ports are:

Web Server Port / Incident Service Port: 9002 (9444)
Search Service Port: 9006 (9452)
Notification Search Service Port / Push MS (requires Web Sockets Protocol): 9008 (9450)

Other ports to consider are:

Collaboration MS:  9014 (9446)
Insight MS: 9016 (9448)

Search Server/ElasticSearch HTTP Port:  9012

Search Server/ElasticSearch TCP Port:  9300

If you are using SSL configurator, these are the settings to consider for the xFlow Analyst segment:

Additional Information

Port adjustments for non-SSL can be performed through review of Change xFlow ports after installation

The documentation link below is the default non-SSL ports defined in SDM, and are intended as a reference for network administrators who may need to adjust firewall and network settings:

Supported Ports and Port Ranges

This documentation names SSL port values that may be used in xFlow, but are arbitrary port assignments and may be adjusted for local requirements:
