Issue/Introduction

When upgrading CA View from v12.2 to v14.0; can CA View be upgraded separately from CA Deliver?

Environment

Release : 14.0

Component : CA View

Cause

Starting with release 14.0, we now COMBINE CA View & CA Deliver in the same installation package, this can cause confusion regarding the upgrade paths.

Resolution

Technically, the answer to This question is yes. You CAN install/Upgrade CA View to R14.0 and still leave CA Deliver at R12.2.

It's really just a matter of the FMIDS that are received/applied into the CSI(s).

- In the View CSI you would need:

CBRME00 /*CA-View
CBROE00 /*CA-EBC OM Common Dbase Driver
 ** and optionally **
CBY3E00 /*CA-OM DATA REPOSITORY AGENT SERVICES
CBY3E02 /*CA-OM DATA REPOSITORY AGENT SERVICES
CCAFE00 /*CA Output Management Web Viewer

- In the Deliver CSI you would need:

CBRNE00 /*CA-Deliver
CBROE00 /*CA-EBC OM Common Dbase Driver

However...

As we now COMBINE CA View & CA Deliver in the same installation package (Starting with release 14.0). Our recommendation, relevant to making it much easier for you to apply maintenance to both CA View and CA Deliver going forward, would be for you COMBINE the two products into the same Installation libraries.

Our recommendation would also be for you to receive and apply ALL of the available 14.0 FMIDS into this one environment, regardless of whether or not you are going to be using some of the optional components (DRAS and Web Viewer (aka MTC-Content Viewer). By doing so, you would no longer have to "maintain" multiple CSIs or multiple sets of libraries.
