Null check in processes start and step condition is not working

Issue/Introduction

We have few processes where we check start/step conditions when the attribute is null, which worked fine before the upgrade. After upgrade, these processes are not working as expected and we noticed that the null value in quotes is causing the issue. We did not see this change in release notes, so wanted clarity on this.

Eg: Project Originating Idea != 'NULL' 

This was working before the upgrade but doesn't seem to work now.

Environment

Release : 15.9.2

Component : CA PPM SAAS BUSINESS PROCESS MANAGEMENT

Resolution

Using Null in the start or step condition for processes is not working as per current design.
