App Log filling with REST API Exceptions: Exception while authentication user.com.niku.union.security.SecurityException: Authentication Failure Error!

Issue/Introduction

The app-ca.log file is filled with the following REST API exception:

ERROR 2021-06-28 12:11:40,900 [http-nio-8081-exec-6] ppm.rest (clarity:unknown:....:PPM_REST_API) AuthenticationFilter :: Exception while authentication user.com.niku.union.security.SecurityException: Authentication Failure Error!

There appears to be an exception logged every 1-2 seconds.

Release : 15.8, 15.9.3

Component : CA PPM INTEGRATIONS & INSTALLATIONS

Resolution

This has not been reproducible.  It is believed that certain 3rd party Load Balancer configurations may be behind it.

If a user leaves a session / browser idle in the Modern UX, some list forms will try to refresh, even if the user has been inactive past the inactivity timeout.

This issue has not been seen in 16.0 and later releases.
