R3_GET_INTERCEPTION fails: Function 'GetInterception' not applicable

Issue/Introduction

The R3_GET_INTERCEPTION fails with the following error message when the SAP Connection object is configured to use XBP v3.0. 

 

U02004018 The job was successfully interpreted. 2021-06-14 13:27:39 R3_GET_INTERCEPTION 2021-06-14 13:27:39

U02004157 Function 'GetInterception' not applicable due to interface configuration. 2021-06-14 13:27:39

U02004025 Job-script execution was aborted.

 

Environment

Release : 12.x

Component : AUTOMATION ENGINE

Cause

Based on the Automic documentation, R3_GET_INTERCEPTION only supports XBP v2.0 .

Resolution

As workaround, modify the XBP Interface on the SAP System to v2.0.

 

Then, the SAP Connection object needs to configure to use the Default. When Default used, other R3 functions which require XBP v3.0 will not fail.
