Error: "Programatic error! Requested scope [domain] generated scope [null]" when running a data collection job in CCS

Control Compliance Suite (CCS)

When trying to run a data collection job, you see the following error:

Programatic error!  Requested scope [domain] generated scope [null].

Environment

CCS 12.5.2

CCS 12.6.x

Cause

This is happening because Domain Cache credentials are not configured.  Error could be for either AgentBased or AgentLess data collection.

Resolution

In the CCS Console navigate to Admin -> Credentials -> Add Common Credential, select Windows Domain Cache

Enter in the short name of the domain into Domain*
Enter in the username for domain, and password.

Save the Windows Domain Cache credential.

Now run the job again, this time it should build the domain cache (unless there is some issue with reaching a domain controller), and the job will now complete.
