Issue/Introduction

This article clarifies licensing requirements for the CA Identity Suite components. Customers may see downloadable files in their entitlements portal; however, not all Identity Suite components require a manual license key upload.

Cause

Customers often inquire about uploading license files when they see downloadable assets under "CA Identity Suite" in the Broadcom entitlement portal. These assets are often intended for other suite components (e.g., API Gateway) and do not apply to the core Identity Manager, Identity Governance, or Identity Portal applications.

Resolution

1. Understand Licensing Requirements: CA Identity Manager, Identity Governance, and Identity Portal do not require a manual license key upload or configuration file to function.
2. Verify Entitlements: If you are unsure of your entitlement status or specific component requirements, log in to the Broadcom Support Portal to review your active contracts and licenses.
3. Downloadable Files: If you see license keys/files available for download under "CA Identity Suite," they are likely intended for other integrated products (such as API Gateway). Do not attempt to upload these files into Identity Manager or Identity Governance.
4. Sales Agreement: While no technical license key is required for these specific products, ensure you have a valid sales agreement for your deployment.
