Environment

  Release : 14.1

Component : PAM SERVER CONTROL

Cause

   Either seagent is

           hung on shutdown

           timed out on startup or

unrelated process is bound to port 8892 already.

Resolution

Cleaning up ports 8892/8891 by stopping the process that owns this port should allow the process to be started normally.

Additional Information

On Aix it may be harder to trace the process. The following commands should help

bash-4.4# netstat -Aan | grep 8891
f1000e000018abb8 tcp4       0      0  *.8891                *.*                   LISTEN
bash-4.4# rmsock   f1000e000018abb8   tcpcb
The socket 0xf1000e000018a808 is being held by proccess 9044012 (seagent).
