Copycat to copy tapes from one TMC to another with Two TCDBS

Issue/Introduction

I have two TCDBs and two TMCs

I want to copy data from system A to system B.

I always used CA COPYCAT to copy tape data from a tape grid to another one, where both grids are installed/defined on the LPAR I am working on.

I´d like to know if somehow CA COPYCAT  can be used to copy tape data from a grid to another over the network not having the target grid defined to the source LPAR.

 

Resolution

No, COPYCAT does not do anything with TCP/IP. 

If you wanted to do this you would need to use some type of network data mover and then there would be some manual updates needed to get that information into that other TMC, but currently there is no way to this with COPYCAT.
