Issue/Introduction

The documentation Resource Selection Dialog Box mentions that "Microsoft Active Directory Import supports Microsoft Windows 2000/2003/2008 domains":

Microsoft Active Directory Import uses Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) to provide one-way synchronization from Active Directory to the Symantec Management Platform. LDAP is the same protocol used by standard Active Directory administration tools.

Can you confirm whether this is the minimum requirement or it is also supported on 2012, 2016, etc. domains?

Environment

ITMS 8.5, 8.6, 8.7

Resolution

With recent releases, ITMS 8.6 & 8.7, we still support earlier 2000, 2003, and 2008 domains during our Microsoft Active Directory Imports:

For IT Management Suite (ITMS), it's just an LDAP protocol that domain structure should support, so AD Import works fine. Unless Microsoft introduces breaking changes in LDAP protocol in AD, we are not concerned about the versions of AD.

Changes haven't been made in the ITMS code in years because Microsoft shipped a new version of AD import.
