Email function not working correctly - Build 209 or later of 12.1 Web Viewer

Issue/Introduction

We are testing out 12.1.6.210, and when we attempt to use the email action with Chrome or Edge, we are getting an error. IE used to work fine. The message that is at issue for emailing:  This browser does not support MAPI emailing.

Environment

• Output Management Web Viewer 12.1
• Google Chrome
• Microsoft Edge

Cause

The message is correct. Chrome and Edge do not support an ActiveX Control and that is how Web Viewer handles MAPI Mail. 

Resolution

MAPI Mail used the ActiveX Control in earlier builds of Web Viewer 12.1. That only works in IE which is no longer available. That doesn't work with Chrome and Edge because they don't support using an ActiveX Control. 

To get beyond not being able to use an ActiveX Control and consequently MAPI Mail, you have no choice but to use SMTP Mail. You can see that as an option in the screen print below.
