Manager Upgrade fails with error "Disk space has -1 MB free space. Installation require 125 MB"

Issue/Introduction

At the beginning of the Data center Security Server Advanced (DCS) manager upgrade the following error appears even though there is plenty of Disk space available on the drive where the DCS manager is installed:

Disk space has -1 MB free space. Installation require 125 MB

Cause

The installation directory path value in the registry is blank and does not populate even though the correct Installation Directory path is provided during DCS Manager upgrade.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Symantec\Intrusion Security\Manager\InstallRoot   

OR

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Symantec\Intrusion Security\Manager\InstallRoot  

 

Resolution

Before Launching the DCS Manager upgrade, add the required Installation Directory path under the below registry key :

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Symantec\Intrusion Security\Manager\InstallRoot 

OR

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Symantec\Intrusion Security\Manager\InstallRoot
