Unable to start Spectrum Tomcat service

Issue/Introduction

We are unable to start Spectrum Tomcat service.

 

 

Environment

Release : 10.4

Component : Spectrum Core / SpectroSERVER

Cause

Upgrade failed with below errors

post install log shows below error

Installation Exiting:   Wed Jun  9 13:04:15 IST 2021

cat: .timing: No such file or directory
      5 [main] sh 596 child_info_fork::abort: E:\win32app\Spectrum\NT-Tools\SRE\bin\cygiconv-2.dll: Loaded to different address: parent(0x4F0000) != child(0x570000)
Install-Tools/postinst_engine: fork: retry: Resource temporarily
5 [main] sh 5300 child_info_fork::abort: E:\win32app\Spectrum\NT-Tools\SRE\bin\cygiconv-2.dll: Loaded to different address: parent(0x4F0000) != child(0x6E0000)
Install-Tools/postinst_engine: fork: Resource temporarily unavailable

Required files are not laid properly.

Resolution

Cygwin binaries not installed properly hence upgrade / install is failing

Re run the install 

This should install properly.

if it doesn't succeed

Rename E:\win32app\Spectrum\NT-Tools\SRE folder to SRE-BAK or SRE-OLD

Now re-run the install

If still problem persists then open a support case.
