Removing the old version of Apache Tomcat with OM Web Viewer 12.1

Issue/Introduction

We replaced Apache Tomcat 8 with Tomcat 9. What is the safe way to delete Apache Tomcat 8?

Environment

• Output Management Web Viewer 12.1
• Apache Tomcat
• Microsoft Windows

Resolution

If you are up and running with the new Tomcat with no problems, you can 

1. Remove the Apache Tomcat 8.5 service by going into the command prompt as administrator and changing into the 
   
   .........\apache-tomcat-8.5.4\bin folder and typing
   service.bat remove
2. Then you can delete the apache-tomcat-8.5.4 folder

If removing another older version, substitute your Tomcat version for the 8.5.4 version in the example above.

Additional Information

You can leave the old Tomcat there, if you prefer.
