Issue/Introduction

We have a setup in OPSMVS that will issue the following commands to bring down DB**DCAP task but DB2 is not recognizing the commands and not appeared in DB2 log:

F DB**DCAP,FORCE

P DB**DCAP

C DB**DCAP

We are able to see the commands that were issued by OPSS in SYSLOG but not in DB2 log. Please assist on this.

Below is the log details:

Environment

Release : 14.0

Component : OPS/MVS

Cause

All the commands issued by OPS/MVS SSM actions and rules to DB32DCAP were issued successfully - it appears that DB32DCAP was not responding to any commands other than a Cancel.

Resolution

To verify OPS/MVS involvement, first check to see if all of the SSM issued commands were issued as expected.  Next review for responses from the subsystem that processed the command, to see if any errors were generated, and barring any errors, that a response was returned.  You may need to review DB2 (or whatever subsystem it is) to see that they received the commands.  If you can determine that the command is in the log, that it was processed as a command and the rules did not reject or accept the command, then the command was issued successfully.
