Unable to deploy changes to custom JDBC endpoint in Connector Xpress

Issue/Introduction

When working with custom JDBC endpoint types in Connector Xpress, you may encounter issues deploying metadata changes if the project configuration is locked. This article addresses the common scenario where "Deploy Metadata" options disappear.

Environment

Identity Manager 14.x

Cause

The "Is Static" checkbox is designed to lock the endpoint configuration. When checked, Connector Xpress treats the endpoint as finalized, which restricts the metadata deployment capabilities and prevents modifications to the existing project structure.

Resolution

To enable metadata deployment for your custom JDBC project, follow these steps:

1. Open Connector Xpress.
2. Locate the project associated with the deployed JDBC endpoint.
3. Navigate to the endpoint configuration settings.
4. Locate the Is Static checkbox.
5. Uncheck the "Is Static" checkbox.
6. Save the project configuration.
7. Attempt the metadata deployment again.
