ARFERR - Job abend with E-ARFERR

Issue/Introduction

One of our new ARF job XXXXXXXX executed first time and abended with E-ARFERR . It has one response action that is demanding the job receives a CC004. Why would a job generate a ARFERR when entering the REQ Q?

Cause

What causes a job to abend with E-ARFERR?  

Resolution

An error was introduced when the ARFSET was defined on the AR.3.1 panel.  Delete the rule and redefine the ARFSET.  Check for a blank character that may not be shown.  Only use the tab key when advancing to the next field on the AR.3.1 panel.
