Issue/Introduction

Is a SYSPLEX  ALTNAME structure required if the PRIMNAME structure is Sysplex duplexed, meaning there is a copy of the structure on two different Coupling Facilities?

Resolution

If PRIMNAME structure is Sysplex duplexed, use of the ALTNAME would only be of value if there is ever a need to define and activate a larger structure on either of the different Coupling Facilities.
