Issue/Introduction

Is SMB protocol mandatory for CA Client Automation? Can it be disabled?

Client Automation - All versions

Resolution

SMB protocol is only used for Boot Server (OSIM Deployments) and specifically when option "Enable use of Windows network shares" is selected. If OSIM (Client Automation) is not used for OS deployments then SMB protocol can be disabled and it would not cause any impact on the CA Client Automation.
