Question:
This Knowledge Document describes how AVGRUNT is calculated in the History Report for CA Workload Automation ESP Edition.
Environment:
ESP 11.4 Z/OS
Answer:
When issuing "LJS JOB(job_name) I" from page mode, you will see output displayed like example below:
ljs job(cybxx1) i JOB CYBXX1, OWNER NONE, 2 JOBS INDEXED, 10 MAX JOB20494 ON RDR AT 09.54.56 MON 25JUL2011, COMPLETED, CC 8, 6.6 MINS_EXEC, 0:00 CPU JOB20376 ON RDR AT 09.52.06 MON 25JUL2011, COMPLETED, CC 8, 1.4 MINS_EXEC, 0:00 CPU
The value before "MINS_EXEC" for runs that were not abended will be used for calculation of AVGRUNT, rounded to the nearest minute.
The following are found on page 202 of User's Guide:
(Specifying Minimum or Maximum Run Times)
.....
If you want to include the average run time of prior runs in your calculation, you can use the AVGRUNTIME built-in symbolic variable. The value of this integer variable is derived from the most recent elapsed times, that are stored in the jobstats data set. The average includes only completed jobs; abended jobs are ignored. Runs ending in CCFAIL or forced complete are considered successful and are included in the average. The average is rounded to the nearest minute.
