XCOM holding an ENQ after subtask abend

Issue/Introduction

XCOM abended with a subtask abend S002-CC. XCOM did not release the ENQ it held on the problem dataset, due to the DEQ logic not being executed to the subtask abending. 

Is there any way other other than recycling XCOM of getting the ENQ released?

 

Environment

Release : 12.0

Component : CA XCOM Data Transport for z/OS

Cause

The cause of S002-CC was due to a user error with a PDSE. Due to the abend, XCOM was unable to complete and release the ENQ.

 

 

Resolution

In this type of case a recycle of XCOM is required to release the ENQ. XCOM has been designed this way to prevent data corruption, unpredictable results and for data protection. XCOM is working as designed.
