Issue/Introduction

Problem :

After adding a TCP/IP LINE in SYSGEN, during the subsequent startup the following message appears in the joblog :

DC088029 V133 Warning: TCP/IP support enabled for compatibility with r16.

What does this mean ?

Environment:

IBM z/OS

Resolution :

Prior to r17.0, the TCP/IP attributes of a CA-IDMS CV were defined in the TCP/IP LINE and listener PTERM definitions.

As of r17.0, they should be defined in a new SYSGEN entity called the TCP/IP statement.

The upgrade process to CA IDMS release 18.0/18.5 and 19.0 does not automatically create such a TCP/IP SYSGEN statement - it must be done manually.

Until this is done, during startup of an 18.0, 18.5 and 19.0 CV, the DC088029 informational message is issued at startup to indicate that the pre r17.0 method of defining TCP/IP attributes has been used.

Additional Information:

For more information, see Chapter 6 of the r17.0/r17.1 Release Summary, subsection "New TCP/IP System Entity".

This information is also valid for all later releases of CA IDMS. This Release Summary Guide is part of the CA 18.0/18.5 and 19.0 documentation sets.
