CIS COMMON SERVICES FOR Z/OS Datacom/AD Datacom

Issue/Introduction

I am installing CA Datacom/AD and the installation manual says; "The CA Datacom load libraries are required to be APF authorized."

I will APF Authorize both of these, but, judging by its name, does CAAXLPA also go into our LPA List? What is the library CAAXLPA provided by the CA Datacom/AD z/OS installation?

Environment

Component : CA Datacom/AD

Component : CA Common Services

Resolution

Datacom/AD provides a Product Descriptor Module (PDM) that can be used by Common Services component CAECIS (Examine Common Inventory Service) to identify CA Datacom/AD. If your site does not plan to use CAECIS, then nothing needs to be done with the CAAXLPA data set after it is created.

However, if your site has the CAECIS component installed and plans to use it, the CA Datacom/AD CAAXLPA data set needs to be defined to the operating system in either the LPALIST or the LINKLIST, and must be APF authorized for the CAECIS component to recognize it.
